Grazing Rites

With so much going on these days, it’s far too easy to lose track of what’s important. Rock Band, Mega Man 9, the new seasons of The Big Band Theory and The Sarah Jane Adventures, the Halloween event at work, Thanksgiving, the Federation Election, the next Presidential Debate, Alvin Singh’s campaign for School Board, Halloween, the American election, the Municipal Election, the list goes on.

It’s easy, somehow amidst all the chatter, to forget that I’m going to Vegas in a little over 3 weeks.

I’m taking small steps to prepare but I’m not constantly aware that soon I will be in the place that makes My Heart Will Go On palatable.

Really the only critical cost saving thing we still need to do is book the car rental and if that ends up being somewhat last minute it’s not the end of the world.

I recently created a Top 5 list of Food and Entertainment to inspire Jon & Josh to think about what they might want to do in Vegas. This is what I came up with:

Food
Hard Rock Café
Courtyard Buffet (Stratosphere)
Planet Hollywood
Cheesecake Factory
Fellini’s Ristorante (Stratosphere)

Entertainment
Bellagio Fountain Shows
Rides (New York New York, Sahara, Stratosphere, Circus Circus)
Bowling (South Point)
Wayne Brady (Venetian)
Mystery Adventures (http://www.mysteryadventureslasvegas.com)

Of the 24 days left I have some kind of firm plans on 18 days, and some likely-to-be-confirmed plans on 2 additional days so that leaves 4 unplanned days until we leave. Things I should do before I leave (in no particular order)…
-Book car rental
-Encode some Vic Fontaine DS9 episodes for my PDA
-Figure out transportation to/from the airport
-Get new glasses
-Inquire about the dress code at the South Point Showroom
-Packing checklist
-Pick up a James Darren CD (to get signed)
-Research day trip to Hoover Dam
-Research Jon & Josh’s Top 5s
Of course everything will be fine even if I don’t do these things.
