Grazing Rites

Obama’s speech in Berlin to some 200,000 enthusiastic attendees made me wonder, could he form a world government? The realist in me says probably not but the idealist would like to think he could take serious steps towards that goal and inspire a generation to finish the job.

(FYI: The so-called ‘Million Man March’ had about 400,000 people, so Obama’s halfway to that)

The images of the sheer size of that crowd are awe-inspiring and the hope for the future that represents has an undeniable emotional impact…at least on me.

It’s funny how trying to save the world gets strong applause. I guess people all over the world are in favour of continuing to live – good for them.
