Treasure Island Dream
Last night I had a rather involved dream about going to Treasure Island in Las Vegas. It even included an absent waiter who instead of bringing the bill got me a fish. Anyways, it seemed like a lot of fun in dreamland so I thought I’d take a look at reality.
Checking the rate calendar the cheapest time to go before December would be $635.78 Canadian per person including all taxes and fees for 4 nights Sunday November 23 to Thursday November 27.
Sigh.

Dude, one tip to cut down on costs: Find a way to get to Bellingham and fly out of there. What you’re quoting that’s what we pay for both of us. Round trip, hotel stay and car rental. Alligiant Air does have nutty deals like $88 fares each way or two for one hotel. You need check the site often to find the really crazy deals like $21 one way(it used to be $7) but be able to leave in two weeks. Quick Shuttle does stop there but with border line ups looking longer and longer, plan for the delays.

Holy cow, thanks for the tip!
So that’s how you guys afford to go as frequently as you do.

Yup. That and he’s a bargin hunting freak! Flying out of BLI or Sea-Tac is much cheaper than YVR. Even if you have to get a tank of gas and do Park and Fly, you are still save money. Do sign up for their player’s cards and use it at least once. Give them a junk e-mail address (the rarely checked one you might use so that you get extra points on a loyalty card), they will send you what their deal of the month is. Do the background hunt still; sometimes it’s worth it, sometimes not.
