I was sent some interesting comments regarding my post the other day…I don’t necessarily argee with every part but I found it interesting.
“Boy do I ever know exactly what you’re talking about in this post. My kid has been exposed to violence (a good parent must show his kid Transformers), but there’s a lot of talking that goes on and explanations of good over bad, etc. However, I will never bring him around vagrancy. There’s a bum that has asked me for change many times with or without my kid there and each time I tell him no. One day while I was without my kid, I told him I wanted him to remember my face because I don’t want him near me while I’m with my kid and I certainly don’t want to fend off his begging when I’m trying to spend time with my child. I almost felt bad about it afterward…almost…until I remembered that he’s there because he wants to be there and he likes the easy way out. I have no sympathy or bleeding heart for vagrants, drug addicts, street hookers, etc. I’ve also taken a liking to really despising smokers. Every time someone asks me for a light or a smoke I always say something like, “No, I don’t do that filthy disgusting habit. It sickens me”. Trying to get smokes off of someone is like a combination of two horrible parts in our society, begging vagrants and smokers.”
