Hello Depression

Have you ever felt like it’s been so long since you had some real fun that you’d have trouble recognizing it?

Well, I know how depressing that can be, and I’ve been watching how much you are writing about needing a vacation, and depression. Let me say this, there aren’t a lot of new parents out there, taking vacations when they have a brand new baby. But, you did get one in, last September…right? Take it from someone who never had a vacation while being a single parent, until the time I took you to Niagra Falls, and at that it wasn’t so enjoyable for you. This is the reality of being a parent, and as your little one gets older, it will become easier to get those vacations, as there will be less worry for his caregiving. But, try to keep on the positive side and realize the vacations you’ve already enjoyed. It’s not like you’ve never had any. I’m writing this in defense of your son, as he’d be the one missing you when you go on vacation, until he is old enough to handle the long traveling times. I do hope to give you opportunities to spend some alone time, but I can’t always jump on that when I hear how depressed you are about not getting a vacation. If Nov is the least expensive time, I still have some vacation time I have scheduled yet. My only concern would be in keeping Julian entertained when the weather could be quite lousy then, plus I always worry if he were to be sick and need medical attention, I don’t have a readily available person to call on for assistance on that. But, with that said, if it wouldn’t be a whole week, I’m sure I could manage. I am not as young as I used to be for chasing after a ‘go-getter’ and lifting the weight.hehehehe. If this gives you something to plan for, I will do my best to accommodate. O.K.? Who knows how much longer I’d be able to function before the arthritis in my back really gets bad. that’s enough of my take on this, hope it hasn’t offended or ticked you off, I’m just giving you a bit of a reallity check on the issue of vacations. Thank goodness we managed to fit in Europe before all of this. bye for now, you know who, signing off.
