Ode To My Phone

I have officially retired my personal cell phone and number.

The phone itself, my 4th for this line, served over 3 years and handled nearly 1,700 calls. It went to Europe, unused, in my luggage. It went to Orlando, Las Vegas, and Edmonton. It texted from stockrooms at Sears and called from the hospital where my son was born.

My number was active from Dec 98 to March 08, nearly a decade over which my plan barely and rarely changed. I wasn’t late for a single bill payment and Telus treated me like a VIP. My number was a reliable constant, like it’s owner. It meant I could always be found, always be accountable.

None of that will change now that I’ve pragmatically moved to my new number but I thought it worthy of note.

Wow, it really is the end of an era. I bid it a fond farewell.

It went to LA as well, if I remember correctly.

I think that was the Sanyo 5000 not the LG Fastap.
