I’ve officially lost track of how much money I’ve saved the organization I serve. I could probably look it up somewhere if I had to.
Today I had a meeting. We covered a wide variety of items but this is the result of probably less than 5 minutes of conversation: we figured out a way to get more units of an item, at a higher quality, and save about $1,400. I’ll say that again, 250 units more of an item of a higher quality for $1,400 less.
That was just the first 5 minutes, the meeting lasted 45 minutes.
I hope they don’t begin to expect this level of production on a regular basis, I’m running out of rabbits to pull out of my hat. But that won’t stop me from basking in the glow of what could be an unprecedented budgetary savings.
