Radio
I hate the radio. No really, I hate it so much. If it’s not The Beat refusing to play more than 8 different songs in a day it’s Fox yaking endlessly or some station completely stealing the format of another station or extremely irritating commercials or a station selling out or misreporting something. The radio seems completely without virtue, there are virtually no redeeming qualities.
At work I’m often subjected to The Beat this time of year. Have you ever tried listening to a song you hate 12 times in a day? Multiply that by 7. The other night I lost 3 hours sleep to a radio. I’m almost convinced radios are out to ruin my sanity.
Well, what sanity I had.
How does this medium survive? With iPods and mp3 decks and podcasts and streaming video and music through the net or your phone…the list goes on and on. Although perhaps that’s part of the problem, all the competition forces them to sell out and operate on a tight budget.
But whatever the reason when radio goes the way of cassettes and the Dodo I won’t be too upset.
