Feedback
So in addition to Stefania’s words of support (thank you by the way) I received an e-mail with some answers to the questions I posed about my blog recently. To protect his identity let’s call him Dark Enigma. Yea, they’ll never figure that out.
Q: Topics you wish I’d NEVER write about?
A: My romantic life.
Have I ever?
Q: Topics you wish I write about LESS?
A: Nothing. Seems good to me.
Thank you.
Q: Topics you think I handle just fine?
A: Well this is a matter of opinion, but I haven’t been displeased, and that’s what really counts.
It’s opinions I’m after.
Q: Topics you wish I’d write about MORE?
A: Me and my adventures.
Feel free to submit suggestions of specific adventures you would like chronicled but I suggest a better approach is to just have more adventures that I’m present for and thus would naturally write about (read: Orlando).
Q: Suggestions for topics I haven’t covered?
A: Me and my adventures.
That’s not fair, I discussed your visit with TheatreSports and awkward mobility, plus I told the tale of Trip One, more or less accurately.
Q: What do you think of my language? Do I need to adjust the ‘rating’ I shoot for?
A: I think that the language should reflect the emotion of the blog in question. For example, if you’re writing about how much you liked the meal you just had, perhaps aiming for a G rating would be appropriate. If you’re writing about an ‘incident’ on the bus and you’re angry, use some language that would cause you to loose money if spoken aloud (swear jar).
Despite recent issues I do want a diverse audience though, I’d hate to prevent younger readers from having safe access.
Q: Should I be more anonymous when discussing things and people? Take greater steps to protect identities and obscure details?
A: Speaking personally, I don’t care, as long as it’s not going to make people hate me. Maybe for things you want to say in a negative light, change names to protect the innocent.
Thanks Jon. I’d like to think I had protected people’s identities in the past but perhaps my method of concealing identities didn’t stop smart people from figuring it out.
Thanks for the feedback, please keep it coming!
