Father’s Day
Aside from the odd relationship milestone I’ve never had a day in the spring-summer before. 3rd week of September, yea, and there’s Christmas but the other half of the year not so much. So when the question was posed “What do you want to do for Father’s Day?” I was a little taken aback.
For about 5 seconds.
Then my brain operating independently of the rest of me blurted out “Slashdown!”
Gotta love autopilot, particularly when it looks after you as well as mine tends to.
Then the rest of me caught up and revised “Cultus!”
Now keep in mind I have a history of asking for everything and settling for less. Well, settling isn’t quite the right word, enjoying would be more apt.
Cultus I don’t really see happening just because of the distance involved however it IS the sweeter water park and is open daily 10am-6:30pm. It’s $19.81 ($21 with tax) per person and apparently there are weekend coupons in local newspapers although I have yet to see any. Frankly I’d be willing to pay for the whole group so long as someone provided transportation. And there’s always Castle Fun Park and A&W on the way back.

Splashdown is much more likely. They’re open 10am-4pm on weekdays, 10am-6pm on Fridays, and 10am-7pm on weekends. It’s $20.95 ($22.21 with tax) per person and there is a special family of 4 rate available, as well I have a 2-for-1 coupon. Plus I can get 4 $2 coupons.

Always one to provide options there’s also laser tag. 1 game is $8 and 3 games are $18 ($6 each). This option, despite being more centrally located, could end up being more problematic as the whole family can’t join in. But we’d be reasonably close to Burger Haven and Old Spaghetti Factory for food.

Of course there’s always Ocean’s 13 and La Rustica or Earls.
Either way, should be fun.

I read in the paper here in Ladner that at Splashdown, fathers ride for free on Father’s Day.
…just thought to let you know.
