Timezones!
In a recent entry I wrote “The flight(s) there will likely leave around 8am and arrive around 10pm. Yea, I know, 14 hours commute but that’s how the game goes.” but I forgot to account for time zones! The itinerary hotels.ca sent was all in local time of where we’ll be at the time and since we’re going from one coast to the other things actually aren’t so bad. This is how it breaks down for us…
Total Duration There: 10 hours, 37 minutes of which only 7 hours and 17 minutes is spent in the air (leaving 3 hours and 20 minutes to kill in terminals).
Total Duration Back: 8 hours, 15 minutes of which only 7 hours and 25 minutes is spent in the air (leaving only 50 minutes to kill in a terminal).
So round trip the added connections only add 4 hours and 10 minutes to the entire trip. That isn’t so bad. Plus it doesn’t look like there are any direct flights anyways.
