Damn, when you find a deal like my Orlando one you need to jump on it. I went back to Expedia a few days later and my great deal was $80 more per person! Thankfully I went through hotels.ca and found the same deal. Oddly enough it seemed like hotels.ca was just a front for Expedia as not only was the layout the same but you could even sort by Expedia picks.

Whatever, lower prices and just to make sure I gave their support hot line a call to see what the wait time was like and got a human in under 90 seconds!

The terms DO say price can change without warning but I asked and that’s only prior to booking. Once your itinerary number has been created your price is locked in. They can’t guarantee the room will be exactly as requested but other than that it seems reasonably risk-free. We do have 2 connections on the way there and one on the way back but as Mindi said, that’s how you get the crazy deal.

So here’s how to get the crazy deal, now that we’re booked I’m happy to share details. Go to hotels.ca and choose the air & accommodation option. Select Orlando and a departure date of Sept 20th anytime and a return of Sept 26th anytime. Then select the Day’s Inn near Universal.

The flight(s) there will likely leave around 8am and arrive around 10pm. Yea, I know, 14 hours commute but that’s how the game goes. I’ll bring my PDA, DS (with New Super Mario Bros & Tactical Assault), and my ultimate mp3 collection. I’ll get Mindi to bring her DVD player. Jon may have his laptop by then. There will be plenty of entertainment options however it may be a bit much for any kids.

Jon, I’ll even play backgammon or watch Heroes, that’s how committed I am. Although I’d prefer Guillotine and The Unit. Hell, improv games in the terminal anyone? Just don’t say “bomb” in your scene.
